To keep yourself from getting kicked off live chess, just don't use profanity, don't have religious or political debates, and definitely refrain from using innapropriate language (nudity, sex, etc.)

Don't do this and you'll have a successful and fun time on live chess. Good Luck!

can i dig a REALLY deep hole NOW and crawl into it ? Would the last trogolidite living , please dance upon my grave ? What in   the  Hell are you talking about ? Common courtesy seems to be the rule of the day.  I have been spouting about various topics with impunity and  so far , I have not had any burning crosses planted in my front garden ! Relax your cacks , for God's sake.

The purpose of this was to warn new-comers, FYI. And if you haven't gotten caught yet using that kind of language, then you will very soon. Trust me, I've seen it happen plenty of times. If a staff member doesn't catch you, someone that's chatting will report you.

Rules of Behavior

Chess.com is a friendly community. The following behavior is prohibited and can result in your being kicked or banned:

  • cheating
  • offensive/vulgar language
  • personal attacks
  • spamming or advertising other websites
  • religious or political debate
  • pointless/distracting posts
  • discussion of illegal activities (drugs, etc)

Simply put: be nice and have fun!

p.s. I am a moderator on Live chess, and it is obvious to me that some of the users have no idea how to behave, and have never read the rules.

That is exactly right. If you can't behave while online, then don't get on at all. That goes for new members and members that have had an account for a

while.

I came here for some tips about how to avoid the spurious disconnections, and left disappointed.

Sorry ozzie, but there's no way to avoid getting dc/ed so you'll just have to update your server, or deal with it.

Well, I'm sorry, but the title clearly indicates on how to keep from getting kicked off, not how not to get disconnected. There is no way to avoid getting disconnected unless you update your server to firefox or safari 3, and even then you still might disconnect a couple of times. This is one of the problems that chess.com is trying to correct.

Provide me with a few pounds of Toblerone bars (with toffee!) and I'll see what I can do for you.

So simple...so obvious...but to so many its a difficult it not impossible concept top grasp.  Kind of like thet guy that signs his rental/lease agreement and the fist thing he does is turn the stereo up full blast and then blames the neighbors when they ask him to turn it down.

Also what you posted is in the Terms people agreed to when they signed up here.  I guess some didnt read them or think they dont apply to them.

"Well, I'm sorry, but the title clearly indicates on how to keep from getting kicked off, not how not to get disconnected."

Wait, don't you get kicked off when you get disconnected?  Perhaps your semantic differentiation is not so thorough as you yourself believe...
