I find this annoying...is it just me ?

    I love Chess.com.

However there is one thing that has been annoying me since day one : the little bookmark thingy on the homepage.

Everytime I go to log in it drops down over the log in box, covers it up and gets in the way of me signing in. I then have to move the mouse to a blank spot on the page and the bookmark drop-down will go back up and allow me to log in.

Is it just me or is this annoying ?? Seems like a silly place to have that bookmark thingy. I never ever have used it, it just gets in the way...every time I sign in !!

I spend enough time on this site ( just ask my wife :P ) and I really don't think it's necessary to play hide & seek with the stupid bookmark thingy just to get to my important Chess games.

Maybe if we all comment on here Erik will see it and decide to re-vamp the homepage !!

Come on all you Chess junkies...I find it hard to believe that I am the only one who wants to take that bookmark thingy and throw it out the window.

I vote we "move it or lose it ".....

It's an important feature for me. If it is an update I'm not interested with I just click my mouse to ignore.  She's a good mouse : )

Chess.com should save your password if you tick the 'remember me' box, and then log you in automatically whenever you return...Cool

I apologize I didn't understand the question. The site remembers my nick- name when I log in, again I just guide the mouse to the login spaces and than point and click.

Duncan, I have three mischievous boys in the house. If I don't log out they will probably go onto my games and make a bunch of moves for me....that's the last thing I need...my Chess suffers enough when I am making my own moves :P

slimcheffy, I looked at someone's reply.  Apparently since I am now a premium member I do not get pop-ups, etc.   BTW I do have the typing skills of an un-modified house plant.  Thanks for noticing!Smile

Look pal, Just about everyone thinks its annoying.  I for one hate it and I don't want the computer at my job to save my chess.com password.  How hard is it for you people to put that thing in a different place on the page.  Seems like a pretty petty thing to get defensive about.  This is an issue were you say "oh, I didn't realize that was so annoying to you valued customer.   Thanks for bringing this to our attention.  It will be fixed immediately!"  Then you fix it.  Making excuses and not paying attention to valuable feedback is a really good way to make erik find a real job.

So Ralph, are you saying that as a premium member you don't have to endure the painful "bookmark toolbar" right above the login box on the homepage ?

If thats the case then it all makes sense...they put it there on purpose (knowing full well it would drive us crazy) to try to get us to upgrade to premium membership...very sneaky indeed :)
