No. I just felt compelled to get the word out.

Looks like a technical problem.  Hopefully, it will be back up again soon.

fubar is an acronym that means totally messed up.  The only reason I asked is there a rivalry is because ketchup started his post with "I hope you're all happy."  Anyway, I looked at the site's google cache and it looks nice; I hope they get it back up.

FUBAR was used by one of the characters in the movie "Saving Private Ryan" if I am not mistaken. Very apropos when applied to the Armed forces from the soldiers viewpoint.

Ah, so fubar is another word for 'knackered'.  Must remember that.

In case our non-English friends don't understand 'knackered', it means absolutely done in, or, as yoshtodd succinctly put it, f----d-up.

Fubar began, I was told, in the military motor pools during WWII. When the paperwork for certain equipment under repair had to be processed. The last 3 letters were either --beyond all repair or, beyond any repair. We used it in the Viet Nam conflict, and actually had a rubber stamp for it. The origin of fubar was told to me there. Whether true or not, I have no way of knowing.
