OP, you feel this way because you don't understand the rating systems. I strongly advice you to read the link posted by 446919. Some general pointers to be aware of:

1) The bigger the rating difference between you and your opponent, the larger the rating change

2) Your rating change depends greatly on your game density. Basically, if you take large breaks between each game (we are talking days), your ratings will change more than if you play more often.
