Because I don't play on here very often and took the games very unseriously.  On the other hand in live chess I have had pretty high ratings and could get them up if I wanted.

  I had high ratings on ICC such as a 2100 5-minute rating which is master-level if you can keep it.  In tournament games I put all my focus and energy into winning the game.  Chess.com is just a place for me to have fun and diversion and to write strategy articles and pick up students and friends :)
