I'm posting this here because it may very well be related to some of the problems members are having recently with chess.com such as glitches, errors, connectivity issues, etc:
Oh I misread the title, I thought this was an Internet Showdown. I am dissapointed.
In other news, I did read this article.
Several European websites were severely affected.
Modern day pirates :)
there was a cyber attack slowing down internet all around the world recently
NO they're modern day ASSHOLES - their argument or major malfunction with some other organization does not entitle them to slow down the internet on a global scale, so far they've put Netflix (temporarily I presume) out of commission, OK that isn't the end of the world but what if they began intefering with email and online banking - just for starters - how funny would that be? From what I've read in the Sophos daily security report this is a real possibility, this is by far and away the biggest DOS attack ever - up to 300 GB of "attack traffic" per second, compared to the prior "record" of a few GB/sec maximum - put out by a very large network of botnets
People like that just deserve to die a painful death >_>I totally agree with Nimzo Roy, they do not under any circumstance have such rights.
Oh, I see ...My internet is so slow nowadays.
Nimzo and Sima, I'm in agreement with you... we romanticize Pirates, but in reality they were and still are an affront to good people. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. String em up!
