IPAD APP issues: submit, really?! screen refresh? still!?

Okay, so what really is the point of having a "submit" button in live chess for the ipad app?  It makes it very difficult to play speed games and having played a few games this way it's obvious that both me and my ipad using opponents just let precious seconds drift away because we've forgotten to hit what is basically an "enter" button.   The new app is a great improvment on the old app but I still can't really see why I would use the app rather than just playing on the actual website using my safari browser.

Also, the EVERPRESENT and persistant problem of not having any "move" sound in apple mobile devices is maddening and EVEN worse is the problem, as has been documented for over a year, that ipad screen refreshes/reloads when playing over games in articles, game showcase forums or any place else where pgn is being used.  A year is a very, very, very long time to not address and fix such a substantial end user problem that probably 10's of thousands of us here at chess.com are experiencing.

I have heard feedback from Erik, the site founder, and Kohai on the screen refresh issue, but so far nada as far improvement.  The "submit" button on the mobile app is just weird.  What's it there for? We don't have a submit button in regular live chess and we don't need one for this app either...especially for the ipad, although I suppose an argument could be made that it might be useful for the smaller screen on an iphone.  Ideally it should be an option that could be chosen...

The submit button is an option in settings. It's there because on a small screen it is easy to make a mistake (both in dragging method and square to square method). If you don't want it, go to Play Live, click settings, turn Show Submit Button off (under Live Play).

I love the fact that he complained before checking the settings. Doesn't at all make him a cry baby.

Whitepawn, thanks for that information.  I've had such a frustrating experience trying to use chess.com apps that I just assumed it was just another sticky wicket, my bad.

Submit button is necessary due to the small screensize, its very easy to make a mistake... the ipad app does need a few things.

    1.  Rotation unlocking for landscape

    2.  Access to forums

    3.  Also the website should put the chat below the game so it's always visible

rather than in a tab shared with moves cos no one looks at the chat because it's hidden by default.

Wow Tricklev it must take a lot of effort to be such a schmuck.  And, so you are blocked.

I'm going to check that "submit" as an option that whitepawn mentioned; probably won't get around to it until after tricklev gets his diaper changed later on...

Thanks, why do you like it?  I know why I like it :)

So my primary gripe still remains.   Playing through games is IMPOSSIBLE on chess.com for ios devices.  If you don't know what I mean, try playing through someones game or diagram or a chess problem if it isn't at the very very top of the browser page...

    I'm a musician, so that's why I like it.

Oh good, most people have no idea what it means, it's a wonderfully descriptive technical term, that I invented that is completely comprehensible to those "in the know".

I would agree that was absolute nonsense.

But if you take 2 or 3 different instruments playing different notes along a diatonic scale together, it would create a harmony, and poly=many, diatonic, could perhaps be defined as a harmony in this light :)

And by the way, blocking someone who says that you're a cry baby for complaining about a non existent issue, makes you a big cry baby.
