Is purchasing a membership to use more tactics trainer better than using a free website like chess tempo? Or does a tactics database such as "Tactics Time" produce better results for the price?

As you see I'm a diamond member - and loving it. The videos of IM Rensch and chess mentor alone are worth the price. TT is ok too. But would it be worth the price just for the TT? I honestly have to say I don't think so. If I were only interested in tactics training, I would stay with chess tempo.

I have to agree. Chess.Com is a great site, but not because of Tactics Trainer. TT is fine, but I actually think Chess Tempo is better. But the instructional videos here are pure gold! And if you're willing to put in some hard work, the Chess Mentor can really help you improve

What's Chess Mentor? Is it like a strategy trainer or what?
 

Would you go as far as to say Chess Mentor could replace rudimentary chess books such as Modern Chess Strategy, Silman's Complete Endgame Course, and opening books?
