Just curious.  Seems like it should have a cool name.

I forget what the names are but if you break it down into smaller structures their is a name for all in the diagram above. a2,b2, and c2 is called one thing while d3,e4,f4, and g3 is something else and c2,d3, and e4 is another. but just as I have forgotten the names so should you. It is not important to memorize names of stuff like that. Although it is important to know the different structures and their strengths and weaknesses, the names are pointless so dont waste your time.Smile

well what you say is correct rossignol05, it is kinda pointless to memorize the names of all the different pawn chains when all that is important is to understand the strength and weakness of them. however i could see someone doing it if the names of the pawn chains added some kind of flavor to the game for them. like for instance one of my friends loves to play the dragon variation of the Sicilian Defence just because it has the name "dragon" in it,and because the pawn chain loosely resembles a dragon. I guess it just tickles his fancy because he loves dragons, but yeah other than just sheer amusement i don't see much point in learning there names.
