ok it seems that my only choice is to continue to place him check..if not he will advance and I lose...am i correct?

Forgive me I am still a newbie and would like to know that if I keep putting him in check am I a poor sport?  is this a classis draw situation?

advice..

That is fine for a draw. If your opponent cannot protect his king sufficiently, that is his/her problem. This is not being a "poor sport" though your opponent may disagree...Wink  

However, it is not polite to post an in progress game on a forum if you are asking for advice on it. You should delete that reference to the game.
