try to solve this, mate in half a move
This is an odd condition,to mate in half a move,no doubt someone will say sarcasticly"can you take half a step?"Prehaps someone else with then say "Is this half a joke?"But nothing is impossible in the world of joke problems, for this is how we find the humorus and funny solution.Firstly,it is useful to ask,can white checkmate here?It seems unlikely, because even the strongest move Ra3+ does not checkmate, all other moves however give the black king move squares to go to!SO how is this solved?
The actual solution is quite funny, white reasons that if his king were on e1 and not on c1,then he'she could 0-0-0 and checkmate,in one move but whites king is already on c1!and he has preformed half his casteling, and so the final half move is Rd1#!
Seems easy. White was in the process of castling long (O-O-O), hence the HALF move
Oh, didn't realize you posted the solution in the text below. :)
See if you can solve the one I posted (solution not provided) ... it's worth the effort, believe me! :)
