I think if he returned from inactivity and his returning perforamnce didn't change is rating by more than a point, he woudl be tied for first with Topalov.
yeah than he has to get kramnik and anand

The return of the Champion ! I hope he will do it !
yeah i hope he returns to chess too.

If Kasparov comes back to play it will be most interesting for Chess. I recall some years ago he spoke of starting a new Chess federation , I think that would be more intriquing than him coming back as a player. Maybe He will do both; resume his playing career as well as start a new Chess federation.
ooh him starting a new federation would be cool
Kasparov's reentry into Chess will cause a surge of interest here in the United States. His charactor and manner are very impressionable .
yeah chess would be more popular. even though it is but still therewould be more people to play with.
So he's going to?
no one knows
SeitelJN
He got in to Russian politics.
thats it!!??? he qut because of that!? ughhhh!

I don;t think Kasparov would ever try to redeem his status as world champ. He's got a lot of ambition in politics and as far as I have seen he's pretty good at it.
Besides, there is a lot to say about stopping at your high point and becoming a legend. I agree it would be cool for him to just randomly show up for a world championship and winning the thing but don't count on that. Just leave Kasparov to his business and remember him as one of the greatest legends of chess.
