In an interview some years ago, it seemed like Carlsen didn't like Kasparov after their meeting in Reykjavik, but I guess it has changed. It would be fantastic if Carlsen reached no. 1 in the world, and I hope this works. Do you have a link to the VG-site? I couldn't find it anywhere.

That's quite a surprise, at least for me.

Have they played each other much? What is the score between them?

They played twice, Carlsen drew one and lost one.

Just imagine being a teenager and playing Kasparov to a draw! I wouldn't come down from something like that for weeks.

Carslen did that in 2004, when he was 13...

Today the strongest tournament of 2009 starts, the Tal Memorial. Let's see if Nanjing was an outlier. If not, Carlsen will probably be #1 :-)

Yea!  The top FIDE list was released, and that kid is already 2nd in the world!  Only Toppy above him, and not by too much.

Carlsen is definitely going to make history.

How much is Kasparov getting for this?

No way it's for free.
