Kids sould get there parents into in chess. Its good to have a (at least one) parent into  it with there kids. Kids can ask advise or practice with them. Do you agree?

Yeah, it is a good idea chesswizard98. Both of my parents do not know how to play chess and do not understand it. I wish I would have had at least one parent who was good at chess to help me progress through the years.

It's nice to have a parent know how to play the game, but it is not as important as having a parent who is supportive in your endeavors. Be it chess or anything else. The time, money, and traveling from one tournament to another is a lot for a parent and that they take this time for you, when they could be doing things they enjoy should be cherished and never forgotten. Lest not forget that the average parent works for a living so you can spend countless hours studying the game.

Why do you think we have chess clubs and chess on -line and many other options, yes it would be nice to have someone close and can understand a little bit of chess.
