Is it me or does it seem that, not many of the higher rated players at Chess.com, play other game types than blitz or bullet? I find that disappointing. I want to see high level chess being played and enjoy it, instead of a contest of reflexes and "hope chess" ( I actually despise this idea in and of itself, but I think bullet and blitz fit the description, more so than, someone who is trying with all of their limited skills, to play the best moves possible). Does anyone else want to see good games, with well thought out moves, between good players who play here?
what is sad is that they can play better chess with timer set on 1 minute than me with timer set in 1 hour.
I realize the idea that really good players don't need as long necessarily, to make up there minds, but if that was the end of the story, the world championships would be decided by 2 minute games.
This topic is honestly abouve my level of understanding of the game.
They claim that in fast chess they play by intuition, a great sence of pattern reconition and memory.
On slow chess, they claim to do the same thing but with the plus of thinking and analizyng the main posible variations to deeper levels.
In other words a player with score of 2000 on fast chess maybe reach a score of 2300 on slow chess.
Any way my score is arround the 1400s, and it is very posible that I don't understand or appreciate the sofistication of the moves and tactics at such levels. At least not whiout long periots of analicing and efford.
I might not understand the level of play either, but that is precisely why I want to watch. I have to learn somehow.
The reason most titled players don't play slow games is because of something we're not supposed to talk about in the main forums. I'm sure you can guess what it is.
Considering I have seen a few instances where there could have been a case of mistaken identity on Chess.com's part...as far as assigning labels go.
And it may very well will, and it may actually get exciting too by that time :D
I think the women would definitely protest the "length" of the 2 minute world championships, sighting a problem with the climax, that it shouldn't be overwith in two minutes...
