Hi everyone,

I just signed up for the National Open u1800 section (and the simul with GM Petrosian). I played in it last year too and enjoyed the experience immensely despite not winning any prizes except the roll-up board. If you're planning on going too, good luck! Who knows, maybe a chess.com member will even win big. *ahem* Cool

If you don't know what I'm talking about, read up here: National Open. This tournament is for all levels of players so don't think you have to be amazing to have fun and compete for prizes. In fact, even the u1600 section is $5000 for first place.

BTW: It's not in the Tournaments forum section because that is meant for chess.com tournaments.

Good luck at the tournament!

I'll be there too, but I can guarantee that I won't win any games.

Thanks, you too. I'm sure you'll do much better than you expect. Although, given your expectations, that's not hard. Wink A wise man once said that the path to happiness is low expectations so perhaps you're on the right track.

I want to go but I have a basketball game to go to. I went two years ago though. Haha, I first though you were talking Tigran Petrosian, the world champion, but then I realized that it was the other one. Good luck.

Hey everyone! If you haven't joined already, now's a good time. The entry fee will be increasing soon.
