Perhaps the sculpture is inflatable and was transported deflated.

Am I the only one who things it is sad to have more forum points than chess score on the profile?

I'm not too concerned about it.  I mean, it's not too realistic to think my chess rating is going to get up to 4200 to pass my current points value, even if I study real hard instead of playing in the forums . . .

Hmmm-- if it was self-inflating, via farting, would it be able to inflate itself if it wasn't already first inflated and thus present to generate the inflating fart?

Btw, do you guy not know what "spam" is? Spam means a form of mass advertisement.

btw, g(x) looks like -((x-2.5)^2), just saying for completeness ...

yes, it does look like a flip of f(x) ( = x^2 ) across the x-axis, thus the negative sign out front in g(x). But, and my eyes are not what they use to be, g(x) appears to intersect the x-axis at the point (3,0) and also appears to have a y-intercept of (0,-9) which is more suggestive of g(x) = - [( x - 3.0 )^2], that is a translation of the flipped f(x) by three to the right . . .  of course only noting this for the purpose of completeness

You better get with it.  The OP of a thread should be 1 step ahead of the thread's thought-evolution, not 2 steps behind!

you need more compact notation, dudes

    g(x)= -f(x-3)

Couldn't one say (with a substitution for the dummy variable) that:

    -g(u+3) = f(u)        How's that for compactness?    Tongue out

Here in the Upper Peninsula the value of pi rounds to 3.14, so we celebrate Pi Day on March 14. Cool
