I've had many discussions with people who say that LCP is not 2000 as claimed, and I agree. However, I notice there is a settings button where you can change the fixed time and the fixed depth. Perhaps this is the key to making LCP 2000 strength? If this is so, can anyone explain how changes in these settings feed through to the equivelent FIDE ratings?
What I do is just play other chess thing like LCP on different websites. Pogo chess isn't that hard by the way.
In tactics little chess partner on level hard is easily 2000 strength. However, it has tremendous positional weaknesses. It is greedy and will always take the gambit pawn. For example if you play c5 it will take even though e6 wins the pawn back (see my game with little chess partner: http://www.chess.com/forum/view/game-showcase/beating-the-little-chess-partner-as-black). Its main weakness is that it greatly undermines the safty of its king. If you can gambit your g pawn and castle Queen side after LCP castles king side, then you can really end up crushing it easily by playing your rook to g1/g8 and going for a king side attack. Pawn storms against the enemy king work great as well.
yea I just did played it for the first time castled quickly and won pretty easily I thought I was losing the whole time though since Im used to losing to programs on hard but anyways putting this out there..Im wondering what the difficulty is for the chess program on the MAC OX I can never beat it.
