Nice moves, though you shouldn't be too hard on your opponent. He was so shell-shocked he was paralysed by fear.

A two-minute wait doesn't translate into rage, for me. Undecided

No no, instead of pressing the resign button, he quit and I had too wait, no big deal, its just not cool. So I posted the game. I thought I played OK, I usually play d4, not e4.

I think what he means is that his opponent was raging and quit. The slang term "ragequit" has become popular in online gaming communities.

It's hard to feel sorry for your opponent TC, when you flip the board it's obvious that he's in a really precarious position, ZERO development on his king's side while all your are almost perfectly developed and ready for attack... and he wants to take a pawn? Poor play. If it was that you somehow turned a losing position into a winning one it might be easier to feel sympathetic to him.

He just wanted to give you some extra time to enjoy your work before you went on to your next game. Or perhaps he had to go change his shorts. Maybe the overwhelming shock of such profound chess put his into chess-coma and he fell off his chair. Or my personal favorite - perhaps 2 minutes isn't a big deal.

Nice, that's one of the reasons i play live chess on FICS instead of on here for the disconnection has no wait time

Breaking news:  there are some rude, inconsiderate jerks on the internet.

Sure, it's a pain to deal with, but you did what you have to do:  wait out the win, then block the guy or decline future challenges.

The important thing to remember is the guy has a problem.  Don't let him suck you in, don't let his problem become your problem, too.  Laugh at the fool, shake your head in disgust, take the win and move the heck on with your life.  It's too short to let idiots cause you concern.

So who is more rude: the blocked or the blocker?

Nah. People just show their true colors on the internet. Just think how much the chess boards would go flying if the people didn't have the normal social inhibitions in public.

Interesting idea; I've never looked at it that way before. The general consensus seems to be the opposite.

It's not unlike alcohol -- once the inhibitions are removed, you can catch a glimpse of what lies underneath them.
