Since you have a "tweaked" version of Internet Explorer (Sky Broadband puts their logo in it, and also insert some plugins that do God-knows-what for their own purposes), it will be impossible for anyone who does not have access to Sky's version of IE to help you.

Since the chessboard is Java-based, you might want to check to see if you have the latest version of Java runtime on your PC.

Your best bet is to download Firefox and try it with Live Chess at Chess.com.  If it works for you, then you can just make sure you use Firefox on Chess.com and Sky's version of IE for everything else.

By the way, you don't have to use Sky's version of IE.  Since you have Broadband, your connection to the Internet is "on" all the time, so ANY browser will work.

Regards, Zug

one small note: the chessboard is NOT java-based. it is javascript and dhtml. you shouldn't need any special downloads. it is possible that your browser is blocking some subdomains, etc.
