My opponent has a totally lost game but he won't resign. This game has gone on for several days with 58 moves already made. How can there be 2 days left? Isn't there some way to end this game? He will not move.

Well, it's 2 days per move.  He will evantually lose, but not much you can do about the time between moves.  Assume you will win, let him make his moves, and play another game.  You may want to avoid this person in the future is all you can do.  There is no way to predict what type of pleyer you get or how fast he will play.  The best chance to avoid this is to play someone stronger than this person.
