IQ has nothing to do with rating , i have a 146 IQ and im a moron , never done shit with my life nor have i ever goten to 2k rating , about my IQ im not lieng thats what i have so IQ means shit to me.
Gufeld. Or pfren.
It can't be pfren. He has at leat 75 IQ and I know a candidate master who is even worse. Also Fischer should be considered.
Chess is a game that require a lot of study and practice. Maybe smarter people learn faster, but to be good in chess you need to put a lot of effort.
I thought it stood for Inherent Quality.
I was surprised to learn that Kasparov's IQ is 135. I wonder if that's the lowest IQ with the title of World Champion.
Richard Feynman had an IQ of 125. All I would really take from this is that above 120, IQ tests seem to be just measuring how good you are at taking IQ tests.
Yeah, and Feynman wasn't even a Candidate Master. Just too dumb for it, this Feynman-guy.
Congratulations: an even stupider topic than the previous Stupidest Topic Ever Around Here.
@andy - I'm surprised you did not come up with something more clever (I was waiting). My candidate: The empty lot I own next door - I've got the title in a safety deposit box - pretty sure the IQ is real low.
Ivanov because engines can never have a testable IQ score. So Ivanov =
title = EM = engine master

I don't know...somehow a stupid post just seemed like the right call.
On reflection, you are correct sir! A silly post for a silly thread.
Considering we have 9 year old master(s) now, and that if they maintained their chess and intelligence to adulthood, then their IQ would be what... 50? So I think that's a good answer. The lowest IQ for a titled player is about 50.
I should have know better but yet here i am.
Lowest IQ of member coming to read this?
There is no lower bound. A better question is "What is the highest IQ of members coming to read this?" Which, I assume, is around 70.
"Does he mean us, George?"...
