I have chat permanently turned off. I'm here to play chess, I don't need distracting comments whether they're good or annoying.
Extreme mistake (imho) right there. Other people want to compliment/help you improve through explaining, and it can only be done through chat. So disabling chat at the start probably won't do you much good :P
When I'm trying to concentrate I don't want to be distracted with compliments. Chat off solves all problems.
No one is trying to break your concentration. A "GL" before your first move (the clock hasn't started yet), and a "GG" when the games over, is not going to break your concentration.
True.
Ciao Balente.....unfortunately not everyone has manners. There is always a few who live miserably and enjoy insulting people and you can't change that. This is what I tell my 14 year old boy....When you come across bitter people stay away!!! You certainly don't want to start an argument with them because is useless and nothing positive will come out of that...Disable your chat the moment your opponent starts with any stupid comments and keep playing.
