I saw this 4 volume series by John Watson on Amazon. I'm about an 850 rating. Would these books be too much right now at my level?
Yes. If you want a good book on general opening ideas, pick up a copy of the FCO. Watson's series is more than any player under 1600 needs. I'm at 1500 OTB, own the series, and it's way more than I need.
