Whats the most astounding/amazing things in chess that you've done or seen ? For example I drew a Class A player 2 games in a row and won the next 5 games we played. To me and others it was astounding because I wasn't even rated past 1100 then!!!

I learned how to play from my 5th grade teacher and around that time my school was having it's annul school tournament in 3 days. I thought i'd enter since I know how to play now and since everyone there was playing for more than a year at least i didnt think I had any chance and just joined to get out of class and I ended up winning the thing!!!Smile and I just learnt the game 3 days before. A year later when I became a 7th grader at Ludington middle school less than 2 month's I was ranked 3rd out of 55 kidsSmile. (the #1 chess middleschool of all of Michigan during the time) Even though I'm still not in the 2000 rating range a lot of people consider me a prodigy already where i'm from.

For me, I would say: Everytime I beat a higher ranked opponent Wink.  2 an extant, higher ranked players don't play lower ranks, 4 many reasons; yet, n such cases, I love beating the 1's who underestimate us; or not give us credit 4 a good game.

one of the most  amazing things concerning chess i ve  seen is the following:

number of different ways of making first move ( both players )  400

     after 2 moves 72,084

     after 3 moves  9 million

     after 4 moves   287 billion !!! incredible.
