I do not think you need to worry about you rating dropping more than 230 points to get you below 1200.  Get your gold star and show your support to chess.com and the wonderful job that the staff has done with this site.

lol. for an extra $100,000 i can give you whatever rating you want :O  (teasing)

if you become a member and train well, you should be getting your rating up in no time!

You have a long way to go to drop to 1200! Hmm... don't play when you're very tired or sick?  Use the chess.com tactics trainer?  ;)

I agree with Seuss68. You'll have ups and downs, that's bound to happen as you practice new opening, tactics, etc. But it doesn't really matter. You show your class by supporting what you love/believe in.

I'd be more embarassed if I had a rating of 1800, played on the site constantly and didn't have a star by my name. I really would like a rating of 1800 though...Lol!

Erik, that is the price you pay when you keep improving a great website.  Keep up the good work on the website.

When you're a millionaire, I'll laugh at your puny chess rating, whilst you cry all the way to the bank. LaughingLaughingLaughing

with that amount of cash (and a fair amount of time) you could pay tutors to get easily 1900+ FIDE.

...out of topic i wonder whats the relation between FIDE ELO and chess.com ELO i'll seacrh arround the forum and if i found nothing ill make a topic about it.
