Who would win if Mikhail Botvinnik at his peak played Mikhail Tal at his peak? They've played one another before but not when they were both at their best.
When do you consider Botvinnik to have been at his peak?
Well, actually it's hard to tell, he won the title, then lost it to Tal, and then won it back, honestly I don't know.
If you are talking in terms of one peak match performance then Tal would win, based upon his 1960 form. By the way I am figuring Botvinnik peaked in 1948.
