Call me Ahab.  More years ago than I care to admit, when I was back in school, I had a friend Joe.  We spent hours playing chess with each other when we should have been studying, and in all those games, once -- just once -- I managed to get a draw.  Every other time he beat me.  Then I ran into him again at a conference last week, and I told him about Chess.com.  Well, he told me that he had not been playing since those good old days, and mean while, here am I playing chess every day, and some times using Tactics Trainer too.  So I am at the top of my game, and Joe is rusty.  Finally my chance to catch the big fish.  Except that someone apparently forgot to send Joe the memo regarding which side of the outcome was his.  Within a few moves it was clear that he had me again.  Oh well, back to the drawing board.  Hey Joe, we'll do it again in 100 more years?

Thanks for the kind words, Ahab.  I guess the skill, or maybe the mindset, comes back pretty quickly.   Based on your impressive professional credentials, you probably didn't waste as much time playing chess in school as I did.  I'll be happy to play again in 100 years, or sooner, any time you want a rematch.
