Did you expect that most people had more games than their peak?  :-)

Presently, I have 48 games in progress with 1 % timeouts. Last month, I've got more than 100 games in progress with 2 % timeouts. There were lots of blunders here and there as you just couldn't take the pressure off your chest. And quite definitely, the quality of game drops as you don't have the luxury of a good concentration.

How I managed to clear off those games, I played as if I was doing a simultaneous chess play. Those games that I felt there is no hope for a draw, I resigned. Those that I felt I had a slight advantage but going to thread through a dificult endgame, I offered a draw.

I only concentrate on those games that I had a clear advantage and try to win that games. Well, as far as I'm concern, maybe having 30 games in progress would be just nice...

The point still stands that relatively few people are at their peak, or increasing slowly.

Not a lot of organic growth, more a bunch of play until pre-burnout and then reduce to a manageable amount.

I know you're all dying to know (haha) but I think that it's important to find out one's personal limits of interest, so playing lots of games at a time can help in this regard.

Yeah, the pattern seems somewhat consistent, at least among respondents to this thread so far.

I certainly found my limit and returned to a more manageable game load.  I don't think it was a limit of interest so much, as one of quality of play and enjoyability.  I feel I can play my best game if I keep it under 10 games at 3-days per move and I enjoy it much more when I'm playing my best game.

I had 116 a few days ago, now it's down to 106. I think I'll keep 80-100, because I want to get to about 2200, 2100 is max for me by playing 5-10 seconds per move.

You mean you spend roughly 10 seconds thinking on one move ?

When the situation is very comlicated, I spend 1-2 minutes. But that makes me late with other games.

You must be extremely good. Because I spend about 4-15 minutes on a move and still manage to blunder sometimes.

I'm very good at blitz, on Playchess I am rated about 2700. That's enough to have 2100 here.

Maybe you would be better if you spent even more time thinking about you're moves.

Pure chance of fluctuation would get you over 2200 or probably 2300 eventually. But of course that says nothing about your playing strength - only about your rating.

Most is about 135, down to about 9.

Looking forward to 0. Then I'll be back up to 50+ in no time at all! But it's nice to be able to take 7 days off without using vacation time.

Kacper, I really admires your ability to think that fast. This is more than a simultaneous chess play to me (bearing in mind that you have lots of games to think about at one time).

I believes your understanding of chess skeleton is very good...maybe a GM level. I salute you, my friend !!!
