My first Tournament

I am going to my first chess tournament against other human players. A wee bit nervous and unsure I am. Seeing so many chess boards and row after row of tables will be a thrilling experience.

In the midst of this confusion and nervousness, I seek help from other Chess.com members. Is there any thing you want to recommend (I dont mean openings, tactics and stuff-Tournament rules and guidelines) me, considering the fact this is the first time?

Everyone's nervous for the first few tournaments. Be nice, have fun, and enjoy the experience!

Walk around a little, look at the top boards.  Play some bug house when your done.

Will that help your score?  Probably not.  Sitting there like a robot and using every last scrap of time may be best for that.  But you have to have fun too.

One piece of serious advice.  If you get to play a stronger opponent and lose, ask if they would be willing to go over the game afterwards.  Often times your opponent will have an even stronger friend that will wander by and help out with the analysis.  You can learn so much this way.
