Currently, my rating is inflated. That, or I've become a lot better over the past week. I've played at a few different chess sites and I usually hover around about 100 points under what they start you off with.

With that being said, I do feel that my game has progressed recently. I'm far from even calling myself an advanced beginner, but I'm seeing the board with much more clarity now.

I took my last final today for the semester so I'll have a month of chess study under my belt before I go back to school.

I'm not one to worry about a few points here and there. I've been playing chess for about a month now and I just wanted to see if there has been any tangible progress.

You've only played 18 games.  Your rating is not inflated - it's unreliable as you haven't had a good sample of games against chess.com players.  It will come around to where it should be as you continue playing, because you'll lose to those above it and win against those below it.  Generally, of course

Yea, I know. I meant inflated in the sense that I knew it will go down as I get to play more people.

Play some higher rated people?  It will soon deflate :p
