Even though I have a decent memory, I don't enjoy studying opening lines-I memorize the first 8 moves or so of a main line, and that's what I'll stick with. However, creating opening lines is much more rewarding for me, and as a result, much more enjoyable.
Keeping this is mind, everyone knows the classical dictum that a solid pawn center- with pawns on d4 and e4- is a strong advantage, and many opening systems are created with this concept of eventually creating a pawn center. One day while I was playing, I decided, "Why go through all the trouble of slowly building a center? Knock out the opponents center-pawn, and you automatically have two center pawns!"
And thus, the Mimchi Gambit was born.
Sorry, but it has been created before. It's called the Chicago Gambit. A better known relative of this opening is the Halloween gambit.
I believe this gambit is already out there...

But at least you found something interesting...as a side note, I thoroughly enjoy the Halloween Gambit, and I may try this one out since I saw you post this!
This is good stuff for those who don't know much.
Like me.
Thanks for taking the time to post it.
