Freidel seems like a super chill guy, very cool from the videos Ive seen. dont think this happened
I heard that Freidel made a comment about Nakamura being lucky in one of his games not trying to be offensive and Nakamura took it the wrong way.
Why would any media source write about that anyway? Do we even have daily chess media?

But it was Shulman who said that Nakamura had been lucky in the tournament, and then Nakamura said that the quad would be decided by Kamsky, Onischuk and him drawing against one another, and then beating Shulman.

Nakamura was pretty lucky in the first seven rounds, he was clearly out of form for this event. That happens, and it is always a danger for a young player who is breaking into the world's elite tournaments. After playing in London and Corus, one could understand if took St. Louis a bit lightly.
