I would if it were the final game of the tourney and both my place and my opponet's place are guaranteed, and I have an extremely long journey home.

Maybe you could post a game where you had problems? I play the Pirc and KID and don't have problems with the bishop.

I love the fianchetto. I finachetto at least one, and often both, bishops in almost every game I play (English/Reti as white, Pirc/Rat as black).

I especially love the double fianchetto. If you can destroy white's pawn center, post center pawns of your own supported with the bisops on the long diagonals... you have an easy game from there.

One more thing fianchetto is Italian for on the flank so it shouldn't be fianchetto a bishop it should be a bishop on the fianchetto...

Wouldn't that make it "a bishop on the on the flank?"

Words like "never" hardly belong in chess.

Never sac your king.

technically you can't sac your king. A never would be never resign if you are winning a game that will give you first prize and a billion dollars

never resign if you are winning a game that will give you first prize and a billion dollars unless if someone is paying you a trillion dollars to lose. lolLaughing

After being crushed, and watching others be crushed, i have decided to make a solemn vow to NEVER finchetto again, not even as Black.

Who is with me?

Fianchetto can be successful when used correctly. I decided to use it as an opening and have been much more successful since doing so. The key to using it is patience. Don't give up on it yet....explore the variations first. There are a few famous players who made a career of it.
