When playing Human vs Human, is there a way to turn OFF that the board turns?
Yes. Just don't choose "Human vs Human." :)
Choose "Analysis Mode" instead. It's just the thing.
Altogether, I like the new app, but I can't figure how to go straight to chess.com within the app to check my tournament status after a win or loss.....one of my most used functions.
Go to Settings and hit the "Chess.com" below the menu. It logs you in and everything.
One of the things I'm missing is that ability to setup a board. I find this useful when studying material from chess books.

That will definitely be making a come-back in the not-too-distant future. The designs are all done; we just have to get it implemented and tested. I agree it's super-useful.
@Witchman
That's weird. Assuming that...
- Sounds are still on in Settings > General
- Your ringer is not muted (via the switch on the side of iPad, etc.)
...you should be hearing them. Did you update the app recently? If you go to Settings, what is the version number below the menu?
Finally, have you tried removing and reinstalling the app, or completely restarting your device?
@DeepGreene: assumptions were correct, in all other apps I hear sound.
Re update: indeed I noticed there had been an automatic update to 3.0.57 on 05/05, and since then there has been this sound issue. In the release notes, it says "Fixed a crash affecting some users in Live Chess" - could it be that this update created a new issue regarding sound then?
Re re-installation, I did that, and surprisingly, sound was back after that. However, starting the app again this morning, sound was gone again ... :( Even after another re-installation, sound was still gone. The only thing I did last night was switching to a bluetooth headphone in between, but this had never been any problem before. So, I am really at a loss now ...
P.S. Has this update also included some language changes? It now shows a strange mixture of German (my native language) and English. I mean, I understand both languages, but this appearance looks a bit half baked.
The mixed language 'bug' is happening to me as well, both in the internet version and the android app smartphone version.
Most of the site is set automatically to my native language (hungarian), as well as most of the app, but some buttons are still in english, as well as some suboptions in menus.
I don't think it's because of the app, but rather the poor work of the translation. It was never really finished, it seems.
The speed with which the v3.x version of the app has been growing features since its release has left the translation effort lagging, I'm afraid. Our current plan is to dig in and improve translations A LOT after 3.1 comes out, since that's another release that's got a lot of new toys in it.
Additionally, we may also put a language picker in the app's settings, like we had in v2; however, Apple's support for that sort of thing is not very good, so... we'll have to see.
I just noticed a potential problem...(or just a fluke?) , The new app gives time remaining as 4 hours, the onsite webpage says 106 minutes...
