    Hello everyone,

I'm making this post because I am a new chess player, as you might have already figured out from the title. Anyway, I am currently trying to improve my game. However, it seems every time i get down to study over some openings or end games, or what have you there is just a tidal wave of unique names, etc. Is there any way I can get the basic beginner ones first before I have to check them all to see which ones make no sense to me and the ones I can grasp at the moment?

When I first started playing chess when I was 7 I went in the internet and looked up videos and got lots of library books on chess and what not, thats the best plan for you, but thats juts me.

good luck with your new love for chess!

At your level I believe the best thing to do is just play play play. Review EVERY game, including the ones you WON/

Don´t focus your studying on the opening, focus on the other aspects instead.

Well, thanks everyone for the helpful advice! I'll be sure to play constantly and review all of my games! Unforuntately, the local library is quite a bit away from my location. Seeing as how I don't have the funds to exactly purchase some fundamental novels concerning this excellent strategic game, the books'll have to wait just a bit.
