guys vs girls

so girls will have maybe 400 votes and the guys will have like 11,600 votes,  would be fun.

  1. under 30 vs 30 and over;
  2. or under 15 vs over 70;
  3. do a group that statistically wins with white vs a group the statistically wins with black.
  4. a staff vs member game,
  5. a vote every 2-3 min.
  6. chess960 game would be AWESOME!  think of the people voting for such a wide range of moves.

I'd love to see a guys vs. girls match. A chess960 game in vote chess would be fun but probably not very well played.

USA verses the world?

Christians (or any other faith) verses another? That way all the players can meet people here of their own faith (or lack of it)?

Dope smokers verses Tea totalers

I like Girls verses Guys, but the Pink players have to play with the Girls.

(See the "Won on Time" thread to understand)

Yes, christians vs. non-christians... I can see it now.  The christians are about to mate(after the wedding, of course) and, all of a sudden, the white pieces are gone!  Now the black pieces have to endure seven moves of trials and tribulations.

the country Idea is a cool one. there are many different countries represented here. could set up a mini-olympic style vote chess series? knockout/round robbin? i think that would be awesome.

I like these ideas:

Guys vs. Girls

A master or GM vs. Chess.com

Staff vs. Members

Christians vs. Non Christians

I like the country idea too, maybe all countries with 10 or more people can participate, and anyone in a country with less can join the country nearest to them.

Wait, we were serious about pitting the christians against everyone else?  That seems a bit off.  I thought it was just a joke.  If we do this, the mormons are going to feel like the kid nobody picks in dodgeball.  The christians aren't going to take them because many don't view mormonism as a christian religion, and the non-christians aren't going to take them because mormonism is a christian religion.  We'll have to get a ruling.  I predict a large number of members feeling alienated or threatened if we do this.  While I, personally, love alienating and threatening people, especially when it comes to religious views, I just don't think it's a good idea for chess.com.

Just make it believers (all faiths)  vs the infidels/heathens , problem solved. Surprised

 Of course the team doesn't get to pick the players.  Rather the players decide which team they want to join.  If there were more than one game for a given A v. B category, I'd side at least one game with each to see if I could detect any difference in the group dynamics between the two.  It would be interesting to do that in the young v old game too, for example.

Internet gambling is legal, right? Online poker for example.  To the staff, there's gotta be money to be made running book on these games.

Does the side that plays against the christians start off without Bishops?Laughing

If the Non-christians open with the Ruy Lopez, i think us god-fearing christians must smite then with the Archangel defense.

I've been seeing these "WWJD" bracelets and bumper stickers for years. You know "What Would Jesus Do?"

So we finally know the answer.

WWJD?

 Conservative politics vs liberal politics.  (I'm wondering if the chess community leans one way or the other.)
