As far as I can tell. Although according to him he has lost a few pounds since then.

i went last year and a couple others, it's a LOT of fun.  not SURE on this year, but i'm sure going to try.  i'm at 60% yes.

I plan to hang out at the spa. Sounds more relaxing than playing chess.

Nope. A shame the tournament isn't in summer time. Lounging by the pool is my specialty.

We go there every winter and have never had problems.

We have flight/hotel package so if plane does not get there then we get full refund and I can get most of my tournament fees refunded.

Of course, the goal is to play chess and gamble so I am not rooting for the refund (although I imagine a local Indian Casino would suddenly get my business with some of it).

I'm sure you could find one that requires less travel.
