How or better yet why do you guys play 10 or more games at Chess.com?
Dont you think that your game play will suffer? How can you successfully find the best move if you have to analze so many games? I think that my mind would go to mush trying to analyze so many positions especially against strong players.I see some guys playing 10 or 15 turn based games at one time. I once saw 20 games being played.
BorgQueen
The record is 3,700 games, set by a member named AKINO or ARIKA or something like that ^^
Personally, I start really struggling with 25.
Mr Spam (name supressed :p) had 1,000+ going and kacparov as 1,200+ right now.

I only play about 5 at one time. With that many sometimes I have time to devote to chess and have no ready games, but it also gives me flexability. If I need to skip a day or take some times off I am not seriously behind. Besides, with more games how would I have time to make pointless posts on the forums?
rooperi
I like to have 30 or 40.
Wow. I would not have imagined someone playing 1000+ games but I did see where Kacparov had a lot of games. I saw a conversation where they said he lost many rating points due to a problem with the vacation manager. This is another reason for not playing so many games. I think he went from 2400 to 1500I think if I really tried I could manage 10 but then with so many I would be forced to play an inferior move due to fatigue from playing so many and due to lack of time due to my job. I would never play 20+ games at one time.

I have a lot of free time at the moment, so 50 games is no problem, and since I dont really care what my rating is . . . if I lose 49 and win 1, I'm happy!
lol... I wouldn't be so happy if I lost 49 games out of 50
I have no illusions about my abilities . . . I have lost more than I've won, but I enjoy the game- win or lose.
You're lucky! I wish I enjoyed the game as much when I lose as I do when I win.

I currently have around 40. For me, its way too much but I didn't think of the consequences of joining every team match possible. I'm trying to lower it to 5-15(max) so that I can use the tools I've been given to the fullest, such as opening explorer and analysis board. These are hard to use when, after holding many games off for a while, I have 20-30 games in less than 5 hours remaining each.
I have 36 going at the moment, and it hasn't been my move for about 20 mins.... Maybe I should start a few more.
eXecute
I think keeping 70-80 max games is enough for most players unless they are on 24/7.
I try to keep 1-2 games at most, and use analysis board a lot. As a result I win a lot of them. But I play live more, so :S.
Fiveofswords
if you are underrated and playing a bunch of weaklings I think that playing 10 at a time will correct the problem quicker. but yeah im annoyed at an obvious blunder i made in one.
Frenzal
Yeah ten is about good for me.
I've got more going at the moment, but i'm struggling a bit.
Lampman
The most I play is 20 or so. I find that it helps me concentrate more.
If I was only playing one to five games on 3 days, if an opponent never moved for those three days, I would lose the pattern of the game, or my strategy and any momentum that I had gained.
Playing multiple games means that there is alot more chances to get my brain into chess gear and think through my strategy.
panandh
I have no issues till 20 games. Beyond that is something difficult.
In earlier live chess, I used play 3 standard chess games. Really it was very fun for me.
rich
AWARDCHESS always has about 1000.
trigs
i used to have about 40-50 going, but it was too much. now i try to keep it under 20.
It is also to do with automatic vacation. With free membership, it is hard to keep even in the range of 50-70 games
Willy_France
I had a long time 40-60 ongoing games, plus round 15 votechess games.Handeling these was not a real problem and has teached me to look quick and recognise paterns. But on a certain moment there is no improvement anymore and the games became less motivated, but more with the feeling 'I must move, can't lose on time!' And i started to analyse less and made more blunders.I decided to go to zero games (almost there) and take a little 'chess holiday'After i have the aim to stay round 25 games correspondance and 10-15 votechess games. This should be fine for me.O yeah, time is important and i go at least three times a day online (or less but longer) got plenty of time over for the tactic trainer and forums.Average 3 hours par day active online (logged in average 6 hours, lol)
which opening is better? Traxler or Double Muzio gambit?
