I don't know if I'll be able to do it, but I'm going to try really hard to watch them all live (starting at 2:30 AM localtime). 5:30 AM would be a luxury, as I'd only have to get up 2 hours earlier than normal.

The games of the WC Championship between Carlsen and Anand will be played in India, which is 10 hours ahead of the United States, where I currently live.

That means that the results of the game will be over by the time I wake up.

I'd like to watch the re-broadcast of the livestream of the games without knowing who won the game, which would be a spoiler.

Any ideas how I can do this?

There are plans to telecast the games live on internet as well. It is the first time World Chess Championship is taking place in India, and is a big event here. So if you look for DD sports (Indian) youtube channel, or look for some Norwegian channels on youtube, I am sure you can find a deferred broadcast online.

However, for all the marketing, I doubt you will be able to watch the videos of the games without stumbling upon the results first.

You could avoid all that by waking up just a little early, provided you are on the east coast. 3 PM India time would mean 5:30 AM Eastern Standard Time.

To make it a bit easier for you, I will also look for some deferred broadcasts online, and if I find any that's suitable for you, I will message you the link right away. Although I suppose there must be some channels there that may be in talks with the Indian channels to broadcast the event.

Thanks, but you sent me a link to something that updates you on moves as they happen.  That is exactly what I don't want to do, since all the moves will be over by the time I've woken up in the morning.

Don't worry about it, I'll just click on the livestream and try to avoid looking at the result somehow.

Lucky to be here in Sydney for sure, WC games start at 8.30pm AEDT. Enough time to get home from the office, have dinner, sneak a glass of bourban while the wife isn't watching, play a few blitz games... then watch the drama unfold Smile

    @Squarology,

Is there a way to add a widget to include in the messages or blogs here? I am trying to put up an HTML code on here that could give us a proper countdown to the start of the first WCC 2013 match here.

This is the code I am trying to post, but nothing appears:

P.S. I know nothing about such codes though. When I press edit button on my post, I see it working perfectly in the edit box.

Hmmm... I agree with you, linlaoda. Chess.com should devote more resources to informing people about the upcoming match.

P.S. lol at *end of ___* When I saw it I thought, "No no no - you have to do it like this: [rant]  [/rant]".

    Too much programming...

Agreed. I often end rants as [/rant]... HTML coding has a way of sticking with you... lol

Guess your wish will be granted!!! Anand will never catch up. Final score will be:

    Carlsen 6.5

    Anand 5.5

I predicted everything correctly. Check out the first page of "Official" thread, 102-pages long, about the WCC. :)
