It’s clear that when playing online chess I don’t have the right to use any chess engine or program, but do I have the right to set a table in front of me when my opponent is not online and try variations or this would be considered as cheating? Of course, I will be trying the variations all by myself, I will have no help from anyone.
no,it does not count as cheating.
It's not illegal. Online chess even has it's own analysis board (click on 'moves', right next to 'messages').
Is this some kind of glitch there ? (at the top of the page)
no i don't think it's illegal.. we're still using our own brains aren't we? and maybe you feel that a real chess board is more visual.. i do use a real chess board also, but only for puzzles.. because it's easier to see the moves visually than having to figure out the moves in our brain..
imadstein> do I have the right to set a table in front of me when my opponent is not online and try variations
Yes.
The usual reason for this is copying & pasting from a Word document or other HTML source. The best way to get rid of it is to edit the post again. (Or use the Save & preview option to re-edit before posting).
its not illegal. Basically, the online chess is a modernized form of correspondence chess. Back when Count De Monee got the latest move from his friend Earl De Rasberry, he probably studied his books to try and find the best move.
