Homosexuality is an aberration fo Nature. The process of thinking in chess do not implies anything against Nature. .. so truly, I repeat truly, chess players should not tend towards homosexuality.
Another thing. Homosexuality has a better environtment in "cranky" media, something to which chess does not belong.
But as Don Quixote said: ·you might find anything in God´s garden"

Doesnt matter if they gay as long as they play great chess and teach and share their chess ideas with us weaklings for free.

Batgirl brought up an interesting point in her post -- one of those things that's kinda "known" but not "discussed" --
Paul Morphy was gay. Not in the ravenous, flaming gay style like Oscar Wilde, but more in the middle-class proper "Victorian" way.
He's a well respected man about town, doing the best things most conservatively.

I think we are discussing an important point possibly a very very important point that has to be taken up to the highest level.
Chess is at one point which brings an adult and a child in close contact. ( as players and also as a coach and guide. ) In england all who come in close contact with the children professinally has to undergo police vetting. I do not know about the US.
In india I came across a story where a chess teaher ( may not be rated ) was arrested. ( the reason is implied in the contest )
