Opponent leaving before losing game...

One thing that is interesting is how an opponent will play all the way up to the last move, in a futile game, and then log out. To me, that's considered rude, inconsiderate and unsportsmanlike? If I'm losing the game, I don't drag on the inevitable. I resign. Especially if I feel there's no chance for a draw.

    Any thoughts? Opinions?

I agree.  The only thing I can think of is they are hoping you might get ill and time out.  But don't lose any sleep about it.  Play people like me who don't do it!Wink

    definatly.

If i'm playing a stranger, I will resign once I feel I have lost.  If i am playing a friend however I will play it out so we can both practice endgame manuverings. Some people I suppose see the entire site as the battlefield and  will hold out hope that you may run out of time while they drag the game out forever.
