Opponent's Rating

Hey everyone!

I just started playing chess and I really enjoy learning it, but I'm losing a lot of games on Live Chess!! I guess its because I always feel intimidated by my opponent's rating! is there an option to hide my oponent's rating till the end of the game?

Dont worry about the rating,is just a cold number .

There is no option to hide the rating.  The best advice I ever got on this was from my old coach, who advised me to play every game as if it were against the World Champion, in the next-to-last game of a match where I was his challenger and was tied at the time.

I'm sure that's great advice for someone feeling imtimidated by their opponents...

Try setting a rating range 50 points above and below your own when you start a new live chess game. That way you know most players you encounter won't be wildly better or worse than you.

thanks for the reply guys :) guess I'll just stick a stickynote over the screen to cover the rating!

Certainly not a crazy idea, I have heard of people covering up their opponents rating with a piece of paper, for the same reason until the match ended.
