i have one: minichess! you play on a 5*5 board. You cannot move your pawns forward two spaces forward on the first move, or capture en pasant. Your king can castle, but by moving your king one square towards the rook and then letting your rook jump over. Finally, to promote your pawn, you must reach the last rank, turn around, and then go back to the other side of the board. Here'1s

the starting position.

progressive chess (white gets 1 move, black 2, white 3 etc. - different systems have rules for whether you can move the same piece twice in a turn or not), rugby chess (only goal is to get your king to the opponent's back rank), alice chess (play on 2 boards, every time you move a piece, it moves to the other board "through the looking glass") and plenty more. Look up "chess variant" on wikipedia, they have a big list.
