Murray, you seriously need to find a new bridge to hide under!
Yes, I agree. The North Koreans are at it again. Only this time they have nukes. ....no hidin' from those babies, but it's worth a try.
Just proves to me there is little or no correlation between chess rating and intelligence he he
Yes, unfortunately many of the great chess.com pundits, with their massive intellects, don't seem to be able to grasp much beyond the basics of the game. Too bad, they are so smart, yet they will forever languish in chess mediocrity. It's sad ....really sad.
Well, the upside is ....they can comment on the play of good players with such certainty. They are excellent at playing ...."What if" ,or "this or that player could have done, this or that.", while never accomplishing what other players attain through hard work.
Intentions are one thing, actions and results are something quite different.
Talk, as they say, is cheap.
Also proves my point that there IS a correlation between rating and the ability to expend more hot air, talk is indeed cheap.....3 days, random, rated, I am waiting lol
No there's plenty of hot air for everyone.
" karpov mentioned that one of his teachers Botvinick said: if you deeper develop your philosophical ideas. you can deeper understand chess."
Do you have the source of this quote? I'd like to check it out more and see in which context he said it...
wow i have some reading to do... and i there is some "nasty" atmosphere here..... i'll take my time and see if i have something sensible to say??
the Karpov quote is from this docu.. it's part one of 3
Hey Murray, in my old regiment the motto went something like this 'better to die than be a coward'
Ok murray, i guess i know your category........yeehaa jesters dead hahahahaha
