I was recently on vacation at a location where there was supposed to be free wireless internet access. There wasn't access so I played my games on my phone. I found that the level of my play dropped significantly while playing by phone. When playing on line, I usually go back a few moves and then play forward refreshing my recollection of the game. I can't do this on the phone and my play suffered. Is there a way to go back a few moves on the phone? Does anyone else feel that playing by phone lowers their ability?
I haven't played on a phone before but I would set a board up if I didn't have access to my computer.
I don't own a board but I have hopes that Santa will bring me one this year. But that would not solve the problem of showing me what the last 3 or so moves played were.
I'm so used to playing on a particular computer monitor I have, that I even find when I play on someone else's computer with a slightly different screen resolution or size, my play suffers and I can't seem to get comfortable. So, playing on a phone would probably kill me. I don't know what I'm gonna do when I start playing OTB next year, that's gonna be a huge adjustment from the 2D chess I've been playing for so long now.
