I'd say Antarctica is the least. None of the penguins there are rated very high.
Popularity of chess continent wise
There is still no consensus as to how to define the continents.
Could you please suggest a list of continents that you'd like us to evaluate?
In school I was taught the following order (implying value best to least):
1. Continent of Great Britain and the Orkneys
2. Scandinavia
3. Europe
4. Asia
5. Australia & NZ
6. America
7. Oceania
8. Africa
9. Antarctica
10. Greenland
11. Madagascar
I'm assuming he's talking about the 7 major continents:
North 'Murica
South 'Murica
Europe
Africa
Asia
Australia / Oceania
Antarctica
Because that's the way the major continents are generally split up. If he's not going to tell us what exactly constitutes a continent, we have to make an assumption
Well, whether we divide the continents my way or your way, we both can still agree that Antarctica is a continent. And penguins aren't great at chess.
Yes but percentage wise chess may be most popular in Antarctica. The only people that "live" there are scientists and their crew, and Norwegians make up a huge proportion of those people. Haven't you seen The Thing (1982)? Even Kurt Russell was playing computer chess in that.
I knew some people who were involved in Operation Deep Freeze when I was in the fleet, and they didn't play chess, either. They'll have chess on the computer, just like my ship did, but no one will play it, just like on my ship. The big game then was Leisure Suit Larry.

Cripes, that was a good film, but i don't remember him playing chess in it.
Africa is the least?
