If offered a pre-arranged draw is it acceptable to publicise it?
"...offered to play a draw before the match"
umm.. that's not usually what happens i think
I'm pretty sure that's legal.
A question about etiquette rather than a legal issue.
A little more investigation reveals pre-arranged draws are not legal, under USCF rules, assuming the site has provided accurate information.
I know that, when I was in a tournament (OTB), the person tried to get a pre-arranged draw and he got disqulified.
Pre-arranged draws happen all the time. Ofcourse most people try not to be too obvious with them. I had a GM agree to a draw with me once before we sat down to play. He only needed a draw to clinch first ( alone) and a draw against said GM was certainly acceptable to me and on top of this we are good friends. We did sit at the board when the round started though and played 5 or 6 moves then agreed to a draw.....
