do you have some prefered opening play??like you usualy play 1.d4 but when you face one opponent for a 2nd or 3rd time, you found out that he is a really good positional player so you will play 1.e4 for an tactical play...

Sure.
Imagine the steps a strong player like a GM, who has so many openings committed to memory and knows the games and style of his opponents very well, goes through before the first move.
There is definitely psychology here, especially when the players are engaged in a match of several games.
